Experts Say No to WiFi in Schools: Part 2

1. Dr Norbert Hankin, PhD, Environmental Scientist, Office of Radiation and Indoor Air, Environmental Protection Agency, USA.

“The growing use of wireless communications by children and by schools will result in prolonged long-term exposure of developing children to low-intensity pulse modulated radiofrequency radiation.
Recent studies involving short-term exposures have demonstrated that subtle effects on brain functions can be produced by low-intensity pulse modulated radiofrequency radiation. Some research involving rodents has shown adverse effects on short-term and long-term memory. The concern is that if such effects may occur in young children, then even slight impairment of learning ability over years of education may negatively affect the quality of life that could be achieved by these individuals, when adults.”

2. Dr Annie Sasco, MD, PhD, Director, Epidemiology for Cancer Prevention, INSERM (Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale) Research Unit, School of Public Health, Victor-Segalen Bordeaux 2 Université, France. Formerly International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Unit Chief of Epidemiology for Cancer Prevention.

“If we want to wait for final proof, at least in terms of cancer, it may still take 20 years and the issue will become that we will not have unexposed population to act as control. We may never have the absolute final proof. But we have enough data to go ahead with a precautionary principle to avoid exposures (radiofrequencies) which are unnecessary if our goal is to reduce somewhat the burden of cancer in the years to come and other chronic diseases.”

3. Dr Stelios A. Zinelis, BA, MD, Hellenic Cancer Society, Cefallonia, Greece

“We should not subject and force electromagnetic radiation on school children. Technology can be applied by a wired connection. Effects of the electromagnetic radiation have been well documented and should not be ignored. The past has taught as many lessons, for example asbestos.”

4. Dr Alfonso Balmori, PhD, Biologist, Researcher on effects of electromagnetic fields on wildlife, Valladolid, Spain.

‘The ongoing invasion of radiation caused by Wi-Fi transmitters and other radiofrequency sources represents a denial of scientific evidence and extreme myopia. It is absurd when cable can be used with much greater speeds that schools choose to do so by air. Moreover health must take priority over access to information. Wi-Fi systems are being senselessly installed, even for young children. Society is performing an extremely dangerous and suicidal experiment with them. In it are included not only the children of those who are convinced that electromagnetic radiation is harmful but also the children of the promoters of such systems, both politicians and those who work in the communications industry and also the scientists who deny the evidence. The problems of depression, attention deficit and insomnia in children are increasing worldwide at an alarming rate.”

5. Dr Olle Johansson, Associate Professor, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, and Professor, The Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.

“Wireless communication is now being implemented in our daily life in a very fast way. At the same time, it is becoming more and more obvious that the exposure to the electromagnetic fields used by these systems not only may induce acute thermal effects to living organisms, but also non-thermal effects, the latter often after longer exposures. This has been demonstrated in a very large number of studies and includes cellular DNA-damage, disruptions and alterations of cellular functions like increases in intracellular stimulatory pathways and calcium handling, disruption of tissue structures like the blood-brain barrier, impact on vessel and immune functions, association to cancer, and loss of fertility. Wireless systems, such as Wi-Fi routers and cell/mobile/smart phones, cannot be regarded as safe in schools, but must be deemed highly hazardous and unsafe for the children as well as for the staff.”

Experts Say No to WiFi in Schools: Part 1

While no one can deny the convenience of a wireless internet connection, no one can prove its safety either. As WiFi in schools becomes the norm, a small group of experts are speaking out against it.

1. Dr. David Carpenter,  MD,  Director of the Institute for Health and the Environment, Professor of Environmental Heath Sciences at Albany University, states;

“Chronic, such as all-day, school exposure, is more likely than short and intermittent exposure, such as cell phone use, to produce harmful health effects, and is likely to do so at lower exposure levels. Children are more vulnerable to RF/MW radiation because of the susceptibility of their developing nervous systems. “
2. Professor Lukas H. Margaritis, PhD, Professor Emeritus of Cell Biology and Radiobiology, University of Athens, Greece, states;

“Having done experiments on cellular model systems we have found an effect from electromagnetic radiation from WiFi. I have strongly suggested for years now that they should be used only if absolutely necessary in the home and not at all in schools. There is no reason for having WiFi in schools since there is an alternative – wired connections which are safer and faster.”

3. Dr Belyaev Dr.Sc., Head Research Scientist, Cancer Research Institute, Slovak Academy of Science, Slovak Republic; Associate Professor in Toxicological Genetics, Faculty of Natural Science, Stockholm University, Sweden, states;

“To my opinion, which is based on 25-year research of non-thermal effects of microwaves, usage of Wi-Fi and cell/mobile/smart phones in the classroom should be either forbidden or reduced as much as possible. I believe that the majority of scientists with long lasting experience in this scientific field are of the same opinion. Several national authorities have already advised limiting usage of mobile communication by children.”

4. Professor Dr. Franz Adikofer, MD, Chairman of the Pandora Foundation for Independent Research states;

“While the use of mobile phones is the result of people’s free choice, their exposure to W-LAN and other wireless applications is mostly compulsory. Especially concerned are children in schools where this technology has been given preference to wired computers. Since our knowledge on possible adverse effects of radiofrequency electromagnetic fields is still rather poor, it is obvious that at present the biggest biophysical experiment of mankind is underway- with an uncertain outcome.

In May 2011, the uncertainty has been strengthened by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) that classified radiofrequency electromagnetic fields as ‘possibly carcinogenic to humans’. The decision was mainly based on the results of epidemiological studies that observed after long-term (>10 years) and intensive use of mobile phones an increased risk for brain tumors exactly at the side of the head at which the mobile phone was used. Not discussed, however, was research that shows changes in the structure and functions of genes. Had they been included in the evaluation, the classification would not have been ‘possibly carcinogenic’ but rather ‘probably carcinogenic’.”

5. Samuel Milham MD, MPH, Epidemiology and Public Health, Formerly Washington State Department of Health, USA, states;

“Wireless technologies have no place in schools. I strongly recommend that where they exist, they be replaced by fiber-optic cables and hard wiring.”

EMF Clearing and Healing Tips

 In addition to proper clearing of electromagnetic frequencies using Crystal Catalyst® Resonators, here are some Tips to help you and your family stay healthy amongst the sea of ‘Invisible Pollution’ we are all exposed to on a daily basis.1. When driving in a car, shut off the GPS Tracking on your cell phone. This will greatly mitigate the amount of RF radiation beaming into your car and can help reduce EMF symptoms you might be experiencing while driving.2. When setting up technology in a living space, be very aware of placement. Back to back electronics will exacerbate their respective EMF fields and is best avoided. For example, do not place a TV against a wall that has a refrigerator on the opposite side. Offices with cubicles can create real EMF problems for employees, as cubicle after cubicle is set up back to back, greatly intensifying the computers’ EMF fields.3. Its been said before, but important enough to repeat; remove as much technology from the bedroom as possible. TVs and computers should be kept out of the bedroom if at all possible. Avoid keeping the cell phone in the bedroom at night. Cell phones are constantly searching for a signal, so even when off they are on. Whatever electronics you must keep in a bedroom, please be sure to turn off and unplug before sleep, or at the very least try to move so they are as far away from the bed as possible!

4. Shut off electronics at least 30 minutes before going to bed, as EMFs interfere with the electrical frequencies of the brain and can cause difficulty sleeping. New studies have shown that EMF exposure before bed can affect the body’s ability to go into REM sleep. REM is a deep sleep and is integral to healing the body. Many seniors have difficulty going into REM sleep, which is one reason they have more difficulty healing.

5. At the end of the day, do you have the EMF blues? A 10-15 minute hot foot soak in salt or clay will work to draw out radiation from the body and can be done before bed.  Simple Epsom Salts can be used and any type of good, food-grade clay can be used. If using clay, we recommend the non-swelling type, as you won’t run the risk of clogging pipes. Another option when using clay is to dispose of the clay water outside rather than down a drain.

6. New studies have shown radiation exposure disrupts beneficial bacteria colonies in the gut, creating digestive upsets as well as lowered immunity. Add a good probiotic supplement to the diet and/or incorporate more fermented foods. Yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut and kombucha are rich in beneficial bacteria and tasty!

7. To sleep like a baby, shut off the power to the home via the Breaker Box before bed. Just be sure to leave on the circuit for the refrigerator and any home security system. Although a bit inconvenient, many people have reported the level of deep sleep they experience is worth it. Based on anecdotal evidence from customers, shutting down the power before bed has helped several Autistic children sleep through the night.

8. When talking on a cell phone, always use speaker phone. A good rule to follow is to keep cell phones as far away from the brain as possible. Don’t keep a laptop or an iPad on the lap, as the heating action alone can raise testicular temperature and result in lowered sperm count. Studies on mice have shown that radiation can be harmful for a growing baby, so pregnant bellies should not be used as shelves for laptops or iPads or Kindles!

9. Long-term exposure to radiation wearing you down? Chlorophyll is an excellent chelator for radiation. Make a green juice, have some wheatgrass or take chlorella tablets as part of your daily routine.

10. Studies have shown radiation exposure adversely affects the bone marrow, hence, affecting your ability to make blood as well as your immunity, as bone marrow produces both red and white blood cells. Consider foods and herbs that build blood as part of your arsenal against EMF pollution. Chlorophyll and liver are great for overcoming any form of anemia.

As for boosting lowered immunity from radiation exposure, the herb Astragalus Root has proven its ability to keep the bone marrow and thymus gland producing white blood cells during chemotherapy. Astragalus Root can be taken as capsules, tea or extract.

How Cell Phone Radiation Affects Your Blood

Why do symptoms such as fatigue, headaches and poor concentration often result from cell phone radiation exposure?

A recent study performed by the Weston A Price Foundation just might have the answer.

Firstly, what do we know about radiation exposure?

  • The World Health Organization International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified radio frequency electromagnetic fields as possible carcinogenics.
  •  In 2011, the WHO estimated that 3-6% of the worlds population suffers from Electro-Hypersensitivity Syndrome (EHS). EHS is defined as the experiencing of certain symptoms upon exposure to electromagnetic fields. Some of the more common symptoms experienced are headaches, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, skin rashes, ringing in the ears, and poor concentration.

So, why does exposure to radiation put the body in a stressed state?

According to the Weston A Price study, the answer is in the blood.

The Weston Price Organization recently funded a small study on the short term effects of cell phone radiation on the blood.

Using 10 subjects of various ages, live blood cell analysis was performed on these subjects before being exposed to cell phone radiation and then after.

The results on the study showed that exposure to cell phone radiation resulted in marked changes in 9 out of 10 subject’s blood.

How was the blood affected by the cell phone radiation?

  • Clumping- Instead of each blood cell staying separate from other cells, which allows for proper blood flow, the cells became sticky and clumped together.
  • Misshapen Cells- Cells should be round. After exposure to cell phone radiation,  the cells become irregular in shape.

After 45 minutes of a subject carrying a Smart Phone in a backpack kept in receiving mode, the subject’s blood became sticky and started to clump. After an additional 45 minutes and active use of the Smart Phone, changes in blood cell shape became visible. The once round blood cells became irregular in shape.

Based on the results of the study, it seems that the blood first reacts to cell phone radiation by becoming sticky and clumping. Continued exposure resulted in the clumps separating and the cells taking on irregular shapes.

Sticky and misshapen blood cells will result in an increase in blood viscosity. This increase in viscosity can impede blood flow and hinder circulation. Fatigue, headaches and poor concentration are just some of the possible effects of hindered blood flow. These symptoms correlate with those cited by the WHO as defining EHS.

Of course, sticky blood and lowered circulation can have much more deleterious effects on a person’s health, resulting in various forms of cardiovascular disease.
