Goodbye to Landline Phones

According to the  California EMF Safety Coalition, there are plans to abolish the use of landline phones by 2020 .The organization has issued this statement:
“AT&T has a policy named “2020″ that states AT&T will phase out their copper networks or legacy systems, commonly known as landline telephone, in 2020. Seniors, those with an EMF disability and those customers recognizing the need for a landline telephone in an emergency power outage want the continuation of the landline network.”

“Especially with the growing number of people who are sensitive to microwave radiation and the growing number of scientists that state EMF poses a threat to Earth’s biological genome and a growing epidemic of cancer, the landline telephone must continue.”

“The FCC’s proposal to have each purchased cell phone come with an 8-24 hour battery, so that cell phones can work during a short power outage, does not address longer power outages, the safety of cell phones nor the need for democratic choice.”

Various studies have linked cell phone use to brain tumors and many experts concur that developing children are at a higher risk for cancer from radiation exposure than adults.

Shouldn’t we be given a choice?

Industry Admits Smart Meter EMF Illness is Real

In this private email from CPUC President Michael Peevey to PG & E’s Brian Cherry, Peevey admits that EMF illness from Smart Meters, and other EMF sources, is real.

Subject: RE: SF Chamber Statement on CPUC Independent Evaluation of PG&E Smart Meters

The press coverage was very good and helps PG&E big time, overall, as well as other companies, etc. One thought for the company: If it were my decision I would let anyone who wants to keep their old meter keep it, if they claim they suffer from EMF and/or related electronic-related illnesses and they can produce a doctor’s letter saying so (or expressing concern about the likelihood of suffering same). I would institute such a policy quietly and solely on an individual basis. There really are people who feel pain, etc., related to EMF,etc., and rather than have them becoming hysterical, etc., I would quietly leave them alone. Kick it around. And, it sounds like the company may already have taken this step, based on a couple of the comments at yesterday’s public hearing.

Behind the scenes, industry is well aware of the health problems associated with EMF exposure from Smart Meters and other technologies.

Scientists Say Current Levels of EMF Exposure Are “Killing Us Prematurely”

In the world of EMF pollution, there are definitely those for who ‘seeing is believing’. As EMF pollution can not be seen with the naked eye and is not always easily sensed by those who are not energy sensitive, there is a large portion of the public who take absolutely no precautionary measures with technology.

Everyone has the friend or relative who keeps their cell phone in a pocket all day and who places it on their nightstand all night. They never use speaker phone to talk and laugh at the concept of clearing the EMFs from their phone.

Well, you might want to forward this Newsletter to them!

On May 11, 2015, 190 Scientists from 39 Nations signed the International EMF Scientist Appeal requesting that the UN and the WHO increase their precautionary guidelines concerning the amount of EMF exposure that is considered safe.

These 190 scientists have all published papers in peer-reviewed journals on the health risks associated with EMF exposure for both humans and wildlife.

According to these published scientists, EMF exposure is known to increase the risks of the following health conditions:

  • cancer
  • free radical formation
  • blood-brain barrier permeability
  • genetic damage
  • neurological disorders
  • reproductive problems

What these scientists also address in their Appeal to the UN is the negative impact EMFs have on plant and wildlife.

As Dr. Martin Blank, one of the scientists who signed the Appeal and a Professor of Cellular Biophysics at Columbia University states,

“I’m here with disturbing news about our favorite gadgets: cell phones, tablets, wi-fi, etc. Putting it bluntly, they are damaging the living cells in our body and killing us prematurely.”

Public Officials Call for a Moratorium on Smart Meter Installation

The County of Santa Cruz is taking a legal stand against the mandatory installation of Smart Meters, even intimating to the Santa Cruz Public Board that police action to defend the citizens’ rights to not have Smart Meters installed against their will might be in order.

Why is the County so adamant that Smart Meter installation not be mandated and that citizens be allowed to opt-out?

They cite their main reason for demanding opt-outs being  the adverse health dangers associated with chronic, long-term exposure to EMFs from Smart Meters.

In an Ordinance to County Officials, the Board writes:

“Significant health questions have been raised concerning the increased electromagnetic frequency radiation (EMF) emitted by the wireless technology in Smart Meters, which will be in every house, apartment and business, thereby adding additional human-made EMF to our environment around the clock…”

“…FCC safety standards to not exist for chronic long-term exposure to EMF or from multiple sources, and reported adverse health effects from electromagnetic pllution include sleep disorders, irritability, short-term memory loss. headaches, anxiety, nausea, DNA breaks, abnormal cell growth, cancer, premature aging, etc.”

“Because the potential risks to the health, safety and welfare of County Residents are so great. the Board of Supervisors wishes to adopt a moratorium on the installations of Smart Meters…”

As if potential dangers to an individual’s health is not enough, the Board also goes on to state that there have been concerns regarding Smart Meters and their interference with the proper functioning of other technologies and appliances in the home.

Adverse health effects coupled with interference with the function of everyday household devices makes Smart Meter installation seem, well….not so smart.
